Finding Vertices for Systems of Linear Inequalities in Two Dimensions

In College Algebra (and other courses after that), a process called Linear Programming uses the solutions of systems of linear inequalities that you study in this course. However, that process actually STARTS with the finding of the vertices (corner points) of such systems, and proceeds from there. So, it behooves you to see that process in at least an introductory manner at this level. The finding of vertices also connects to the material covered in earlier sections in chapter 8 (since it’s equivalent to finding intersections of a pair of lines, which is the same as finding the solution to the system formed by the equations of a pair of lines).
